This sweet girls' mama booked me back in the summer and we did her maternity session the last nice day before September turned terrible & angry. Last year was crazy, our insanely long, hard winter skipped spring and went straight to dead heat summer, and then we skipped fall and hit winter and coldness super hard! It was freezing! But I digress…..

This little one’s session was amazing! It was just under 3 hours and we got so many amazing shots from it, she slept the entire time without a peep! That is, until she needed to go into her carseat, lol. This was one of my favourite sessions of 2018, I can’t wait to see this beautiful family again!

The Early Arrival | Airdrie Newborn Photographer | Lace & Locket Photography

Have you ever woken up realizing that your alarm didn't go off and you're supposed to be somewhere in 20 minutes? I feel like that's what this couple felt like when they ended up having their baby almost an entire month earlier than expected!

Erin booked me for both maternity (you can see her stunning session here) and newborn photos and we had just finished our session and while I was away in Mexico, I got a message from her with a picture of this teeny tiny little 4 lb baby and you can imagine my surprise! He wasn't due for another month! Well holy! But he was soooo cute!

Little one needed to stay in the NICU for a couple weeks before he could come home and I waited for mama to contact me to do the photos as I didn't want to overwhelm her. So Baby B came into the studio weighing in at 5 lbs making him the second smallest baby I've photographed, and he was precious. He did so well, it was incredible! He gave me so many smiles and he slept like a dream ( for me of course, can't say the same for mom & dad!)

I am so honoured that Erin chose me for her maternity and newborn photos and I can't wait to see them again soon! <3

I absolutely love this family. Like, LOVE them. I photographed both their weddings, their first one J and I were both pregnant at the same time and I felt it really bonded us together being pregnant in the dead of summer. I didn't photograph her first babes' photos as her friends had gifted her another session and also because I had my own brand new baby to take care of at that time!

I was soooooo SO excited when she told me she was pregnant with her second, pretty sure I did a little dance in my kitchen reading the message! And then of course during this last winter from Hell the poor family got sick, and then I got sick and then all these other things happened that were no one's fault at all, just the way the cookie crumbled. We didn't end up doing S's session untill she was 7 weeks old which normally is way past the window of "newborn and getting super cute, curly, naked, posed photos done. I didn't want to not do it though, that would be silly, so I tried anyways and she was PERFECT!!! And you know who else was perfect?! Her two year old brother. LOVE THAT KID. He nailed his part and we had so much fun during their session. I can't wait to see them again :)

Rustic Baby W & the Antlers | Airdrie Newborn Photographer | Lace & Locket Photography

Baby W was one of the many babies from December that needed to be photographed twice. His first day he did so great the first hour but then after that he was wide awake and wouldn't go back to sleep. This happens. More frequently than you'd think. And in December it happened with 7 of the 9 babies I had scheduled. I had big plans for him when Mum told me she wanted something rustic so I borrowed some deer antlers from a friend of mine and I  had originally wanted to use a plaid blanket to incorporate, but changed my mind last minute and went with a navy blue. He was so sweet.

The second time I came back we did the family portion of his photos, big sister was so awesome! I have to say that when I get to do first baby photos it's a lot of fun and generally stress-free but when there's a big sibling involved it's my favourite. They're usually so excited and eager to help and curious to see what Im doing it's SO AWESOME FOR ME!!!!!! Haha. My favourite.

Baby W's session was shot in his home using studio lights I brought with me.

The Little Pilot Hat Session - The First Baby of 2018 | Airdrie Newborn Photographer | Lace & Locket Photography

This sweet boy was the first baby of 2018! He was already born when his mama contacted me to book his newborn session & I am so glad she did. This little dude came into the studio for his session & he did so well I was able to pose him so easy without any waking up or fussing! He let me do anything so long as he could eat when he needed to and we still finished the session early!

He's lucky enough to have two moms and they were the most awesome pair I've ever met! This little one is going to grow up with so much love! One of his mama's friends bought the adorable little navy pilot's hat when they announced they were pregnant and it was just too cute, so we used it to it's full potential.
