Wild & One Milestone for Baby H! | Lace & Locket Photo | Airdrie Newborn + Milestone Photographer

This mister turned one last month and his mama had won a credit during my 12 Days of Christmas promo from last year. It was a long wait of a year but I was so excited to start planning his birthday session when Mama started sending me ideas that she wanted to go with a Where The Wild Things Are theme. I have to admit that I had never read the story so clearly I was missing something but after a trusty Google search, I had a tent made by From The Pear Tree because I thought it would the cutest little addition!

We originally planned to do the session outside, we were going to head to Big Hill Springs but then September lasted a whopping 10 minutes and the rest of it sucked (seriously, what the heck happened between the sweltering heat and the next day when it suddenly became ICE ICE BABY outside?!) so we had to do it inside my studio. I think it turned out pretty stinkin’ cute though!
Happy birthday Baby H!!

First Year Session | Super Girly Birthday | Calgary, AB | Lace & Locket Photography | Calgary Lifestyle Photographer

So I haven't been doing any studio type sessions except for newborns for quite some time, I think the last time I did one that I shared was back in 2013. I don't even know why I haven't done them but I've always had requests to do them and I would occasionally on the down low. But then i realized I kind of really loved doing them! The creating of the sessions and dreaming up sets and finding props and of course the shopping for stuff! It's such an addiction. So when this lovely little family asked if I would do their daughter's First Birthday shoot I decided to open up my service menu to take on more sessions like this.

This family first came to me back in November when their daughter was just 4 months old! She was so smiley and adorable, I was so excited to have her back in front of my camera. Mom wanted the session to be super girly and cute, so this set worked out really well. It also worked out that the tutu she had made and the letters to spell the babe's name worked really well! They were a great pop of colour. I am very happy with how this session turned out!
